This month, Rental Management looks at aerial, material handling and lifting equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers and related equipment.

Cushman scissor lift

The Titan T-1145 scissor lift from Cushman, Augusta, Ga., has a maximum 17-ft. working height and a 60-in.-by-41-in. platform with a 19-in. sliding extension. There is seating for two passengers and an electric, zero-emissions 48V powertrain. The T-1145 includes four-wheel hydraulic brakes, headlights and turn signals.
 

Terex telescopic device

The Terex® Hi-Ranger LTM40 model lift from Terex Utilities, Watertown, S.D., is an articulated telescopic device designed to offer high reach in a compact design. The LTM40 has a working height of up to 44.5 ft. and has a gross vehicle weight rating of 19,500 lbs. The LTM40 model can be installed on a Class 4 chassis with a 7,000-lb. front axle, has a platform capacity up to 400 lbs., a horizontal reach of 30.7 ft., and offers up to
200 lbs. jib capacity at full side reach.
 

Atlas Copco bucket crushers

The rig-mounted bucket crushers from Atlas Copco, Commerce City, Colo., are designed to solve job site waste management issues by recycling asphalt, stone and concrete debris as well as mine, quarry and trench material. The output size adjusts from 0.5 to 4.75 in. or from 0.5 to 4 in. in the BC 1500. The bucket jaws, which receive the most wear, can be inverted. The top and bottom jaws can be replaced or single jaws can be rotated by 180 degrees to provide for more even wear and longer service life.
 

JLG telehandler

The 10054 SkyTrak telehandler from JLG Industries, McConnellsburg, Pa., has a 10,000-lb. capacity and a 53-ft., 2 in. lift height. It is equipped with a Tier 4i engine, has four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer. The 10054 also comes with the company’s Stabil-Trak stability system.
 

Genie portable lift

The GR-26J Runabout portable lift from Terex AWP, Redmond, Wash., is a two-person machine with a maximum “up-and-over” clearance of more than 21 ft. The jib has a 140-degree working range. The 6,250-lb. machine has a 31-in. inside turning radius and 25 percent gradeability.
 

Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. fork lift

The 8-Series large capacity lift truck line from Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A, Irvine, Calif., includes 8,000 to 17,500 lb. pneumatic models with diesel, LPG, gasoline and dual fuel engines, along with cushion LPG-powered models with 8,000 to 15,500 lb. lifting capacities. Toyota has developed three additional fuel-saving features available on all models: a standard load-sensing power steering system, an “Eco” mode option to help improve truck fuel efficiency over the course of the work day and a programmable auto engine off option that automatically powers down the lift truck after a set idle period.

MotorSocks motor covers from Tiresocks, Centennial, Colo., are used to protect finished flooring from hydraulic fluid leaks that might occur at the drive motors on electric scissor lifts. The company says MotorSocks are typically a companion product to its DripDiapers, which are used to protect finished flooring from fluid leaks from the chassis of equipment.

Diversified Products man basket

The Quick Attach man baskets from Diversified Products, Waco, Texas, are made of steel and include universal mounting for installation on multiple crane styles. The company says one operator can change out the adaptor to suit any make of crane. A yoke-style and rotating-style are offered. The yoke-style model is designed to provide more workspace, as the structural support arms connect on the outside of the basket. The rotating model is designed to allow for a complete 360-degree rotation about the center of the basket at any boom angle.

 
   

Manitou telehandler

The MRT easy rotating rough-terrain telescopic handlers from Manitou Group Americas, West Bend, Wis., have 360 degrees of lifting capability of up to 51 ft. 10 in. on the MRT 1640 and 58 ft. 8 in. on the MRT 1840 with a lift capacity of 8,818 lbs. The rotating upper structure allows the machine to remain stationary while working in a 360-degree area.

 

Harlo forklift

The HP-6500 forklift from Harlo, Grandville, Mich., achieves Tier 4i compliance with a mechanical turbo-charged diesel engine. The company says the absence of Tier 4i after-treatment technology helps reduce the initial cost and maintenance costs of the machine.
A pressure and flow compensated hydraulic package also reduces parasitic load, resulting in an increase in fuel efficiency of 34 percent over the previous model, the company says.

 
   

TVH Parts Co. tires

Tires designed to fit Skyjack equipment from TVH Parts Co., Olathe, Kan., allow users to replace the complete wheel assembly, which is made of mold-on solid tires to eliminate the risk of tires spinning in place on the rim. A different tread pattern is designed to provide greater traction on wet surfaces, the company says. The tires fit Skyjack models SJIII-3015, SJIII-3215 and SJIII-3219.

 

UP Equip atrium lift

The EasyLift atrium compact tracked boom lifts from UP Equip, Verchères, Quebec, Canada, are available from 40-ft. to 116-ft. heights with a capacity of 440 lbs. There are multiple hybrid configurations with gas, diesel or propane combustion engines, coupled with AC 110V or 240V or lithium ion for electric usage indoors. The company says its swing-out outriggers also offer a smaller footprint.

 
   

Snorkel scissor lift

The S4390RT high-capacity, rough-terrain scissor lift from Snorkel, Elwood, Kan., has a maximum platform height of 42 ft., twin 51-in. deck extensions to create a 6-ft.-by-21-ft.-8-in. work area and a lift capacity of 1,500 lbs. The machine is expected to be available in 2014.

 

Gehl telehandler

The Gehl RS6-34 telehandler from Gehl, a division of Manitou Group, West Bend, Wis., is powered by a 74-hp John Deere Tier 4i PowerTech M engine with a mechanical fuel system that generates higher injection pressures for more efficient combustion. The company says the Tier 4i RS Series telescopic handlers offer the same performance features as previous models, including welded box-section booms that can handle high lift capacities up to 12,000 lbs. with lift heights over 55 ft.
