Find out what benefits rental stores offer

If you are wondering what your peers are doing when it comes to offering employee benefits and more — including salary levels, health care coverage, vacation, sick pay, retirement plans and professional development expenditures — all are covered in the 2012 Compensation and Benefits Report from the American Rental Association (ARA).

You can learn how your company compares with rental businesses of similar size and inventory by accessing the online version of this benchmarking report, which includes:

  • Details on average, median and starting compensation levels for both salaried and hourly employee titles — available 24/7.
  • Breakdowns by annual revenue, revenue mix, community size and geographic region.
  • In-depth information on health insurance practices, retirement plans, vacation and other leave policies.
  • An online compensation calculator that allows you to generate and download in Excel or PDF formats customized reports using multiple criteria.

All ARA members who participated in the Compensation and Benefits Survey can access a free copy of the report and your company’s individual report with access to searchable results by going to www.iisecure.com/ARA_CompBenefits/Login2.asp.

You will need the password you used during the survey process. There is a retrieval tool if you have forgotten your password. If you did not submit your survey online, simply enter your email address into the password retrieval tool and an email with login instructions will be sent to you automatically.

ARA members who did not participate in the survey may purchase online access or receive a printed version of the report for $150. Nonmembers will be charged $450.

Go to the “Shop ARA” section of ARArental.org and select “Compensation and Benefits Report 2012.” For questions, call ARA Member Services at 800-334-2177.

Online resources about health care reform

The American Rental Association (ARA) recorded “Healthcare 101 For Your Rental Business: What You Need to Know to Implement the Law of the Land,” which was presented on Sunday, Feb. 10, at The Rental Show 2013 in Las Vegas in order to make the information available to everyone.

The recording is expected to be available online in early March via the shopping cart at ARArental.org. Access will be free for all rental companies with full registration to The Rental Show 2013 as well as for exhibitors. ARA member companies that did not attend the show will be charged a $25 fee to access the recording and those with nonmember companies that did not attend the show will be charged $50.
