Genie introduces online operator training program
03/06/2013

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), Redmond, Wash., has launched Genie® Lift Pro™, an online-based aerial work platform training program.

By completing the online training program and subsequent hands-on familiarization training with a qualified person, end users can become qualified AWP operators in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards.

The Lift Pro online training program is available through authorized Lift Pro Training Centers throughout North America and will be applicable for most brands, makes and models of AWPs. Genie customers also are eligible to become authorized Lift Pro Training Centers by meeting specified criteria.

“The Lift Pro online training program gives end users the ability to train at their own pace and on their own schedule,” said Mike Samora, senior director, global marketing, Terex AWP. “This is completely unprecedented in the industry and we anticipate the program will potentially increase both productivity and safety on the job site.”

Once an end user completes the online program, the hands-on training session takes place at the dealership or rental company from which the program was purchased. Upon successful completion of this and the online training module, the end user will be considered
a qualified operator.

The online program includes interactive features and video training that can be paused at any time. A 30-question exam is administered upon completion of the training modules and end users are required to answer all questions correctly. If an incorrect answer is given, participants are required to return to the module and search for the correct answer as a way to help ensure complete comprehension of the material, the company says. More information about the program is available at genielift.com.
