Bunce Rental has been in the rental business since 1946 and the business serves the following rental markets: construction, general tool, party and medical.
Bunce Rental started as an equipment sales business in 1946 and began renting equipment with a relatively small inventory, which included small tractors, tools and small contractor items. Sales and rentals continued until 1957 at which time the business became exclusively rental under the operation of Norman Greenfield.
Beginning with that $5,000 worth of inventory, he continuously added new lines of equipment: medical (sickroom) and guest equipment, bulldozers, large tractors, vacation trailers and party equipment to name just a few.
In the 1960s Bunce Rental had two locations in Puyallup and Tacoma. In the late 1970s, the medical rental segment branched to a new division called American Medical Rental & Supply, specializing in the rental and sales of home medical equipment.
In 1985 a new equipment rental branch was opened in the South Hill area of Puyallup. In 1989 an existing local rental business, City Rents, was purchased, which included two general rental locations and one medical rental location.
In the late 1970s, the company decided to continue in the medical business and moved it to its own locations. American Medical Rental & Supply is a stand-alone division with a division manager and departments that handle billing, customer service, inventory/purchasing, outside sales and delivery. In addition, the company has a respiratory therapist on staff as well as a repair center.
In 1995, the party rental segment branched to a new division called American Party Place specializing in party and special event rental equipment. The company currently has four construction/general tool locations, two medical locations and one party/event location.
