Takeuchi track loaders
The TL10 and TL12 track loaders from Takeuchi-US, Atlanta, have Tier 4 Interim compliant engines and the company’s exclusive “Eco Mode” function designed to reduce fuel consumption during operation. The company says the selectable auxiliary work modes allow the operator to fine-tune the auxiliary hydraulic output to three specific attachment settings for reduced downtime on job sites.
The 586H and 588H rough-terrain forklifts from Case Construction Equipment, Racine, Wis., launched in August, use cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) technology and a diesel particulate filter to achieve Tier 4 Interim certification with Case turbocharged engines rated at 78 net hp. The company says the new models deliver at least a 5 percent increase in fuel efficiency and faster response times than previous models.
Cummins Power Generation generator sets
The 175, 200, 275 and 300 kW generator sets from Cummins Power Generation, Minneapolis, use the company’s QSB7 and QSL9 engine platforms for improved fuel economy. The company says the units are smaller, lighter and quieter than the models they replace and comply with Tier 3 emission requirements for emergency standby applications.
Gateway Safety helmet
The Serpent® vented safety helmet from Gateway Safety, Cleveland, uses a CoolSense™ airflow system and has six vents along the peak of the helmet to combat heat buildup under the helmet that can cause fatigue and heat stress. A cushioned brow pad also absorbs moisture and perspiration, and a rain trough is designed to divert water from workers’ faces.
Club Car utility vehicle
The Carryall 242 utility vehicle from Club Car, Augusta, Ga., is designed to navigate tight, congested areas. It can travel at speeds of 17 to 19 mph, the tilting bed box carries 800 lbs. and the vehicle can fit into the back of a pickup truck for transport.
Husqvarna floor grinder
The PG 400 – 220V floor grinder from Husqvarna, Olathe, Kan., includes a dust guard and vacuum port for suction of dust, a handlebar that can be folded over the machine and a variety of diamond tooling available for different applications. The grinder has a 4-hp, 1-phase motor and is designed to grind concrete, mastic, glue, overlayments and epoxies.
The 999cc California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliant engine from Kohler Engines, Kohler, Wis., incorporates a secondary air injection (SAI) system to meet the latest emissions standards in all 50 U.S. states, the company says. The engine is designed for use in commercial applications, including agricultural tractors, lawn tractors, pumps, rollers, generators and other power equipment.
Sidney Manufacturing Co. tree and post puller
The timberline tree and post puller attachment from Sidney Manufacturing Co., Sidney, Iowa, is designed to remove up
to 8-in.-diameter trees, including the root system. It has a serrated power jaw that opens to 10 in. to handle a variety of materials, a commercial 2-in.-by-8-in. hydraulic cylinder rated for 3,000 psig, and a universal quick coupler for skid-steers, tractor mounts and most custom hitches. An optional guard to hold branches away from the machine’s operator is available.
