On June 8-9, Bobcat invited members of the press to Bismarck, N.D., to tour a Bobcat manufacturing facility and to introduce several new Bobcat machines, including M-Series loaders and excavators. With the M-Series introduction, the company is instituting a new numbering system. The loaders retain the letter designations of “S” for skid-steer and “T” for compact track loader. The first number after the letter indicates the frame size and the remaining two numbers are to distinguish models by relative size and horsepower. Excavator models will begin with “E” and the numbers will correspond to the excavator’s weight in metric tons multiplied by 10 — an E32 is a 3.2 metric ton excavator.
