  • Centreville Manufacturing, Centreville, Md., spent a day with “How It’s Made,” a Discovery Science Channel show, filming production of the AutoCone 130, a robotic machine that automatically places and picks up traffic cones. The show, filmed June 5, is scheduled to air in early January 2010.


  • United Rentals, Greenwich, Conn., has renewed its partnership with “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” for the 2009-2010 Season 7, with the Connecticut launch of its 46th “Extreme” build in June. The Emmy award-winning television show continues to rely on United Rentals branches across the country for equipment, expertise and volunteers, including the donated use of more than 2,000 pieces of construction equipment.


  • Preston Bailey, famous event designer and author, made an appearance on the third episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” in March, by request of participant Melissa Rivers, to help in their task of selling 125 wedding dresses. The women’s team, with Bailey’s assistance in setting up the display, won the challenge. In 2006, Bailey was the opening session speaker for the Events & Tents pre-show workshop at The Rental Show in Orlando, Fla.
