Obituary - Jack Brown

Jack Bown, 73, died Jan. 14, 2006, of heart failure.

Bown bought Butler Rents 36 years ago and turned it into the Denver area’s largest party and event supplier, with about 100 employees and 40 delivery trucks.

After serving in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in business. He and his wife moved to Denver when Butler Rents came up for sale.

Bown was active in his local business community and served on the ARA of Colorado board of directors in 1994.

He is survived by his wife Bernice, two daughters, a son, a brother, a sister and three grandchildren.
