Absolute Location acquires In-Tents
04/01/2006
Paul Kenyon, managing director of Toronto film and special event support company Absolute Location Support, recently announced the acquisition of temporary shelter specialists In-Tents for an undisclosed amount. “It is a marriage made in heaven,” Kenyon said. “We have been steadily increasing our service to the special events industry and currently provide virtually everything that goes under and alongside a tent, so why not provide the tents? And, who better than In-Tents to partner with?”

In-Tents began operations in 1995 and has provided tents for many large outdoor special events and film sets in recent years and will continue to serve event planners in the Toronto area.

Sam Downing, head of Absolute Event Services, a division of Absolute Location Support, will lead the new division in tandem with In-Tents co-founder John Waite.

Absolute began operations in 1997 as the location support arm of The Partners’ Film Co. They currently rent equipment to film, television, commercial production and special event companies. Absolute employs 35 full-time and 16 part-time staff and currently operates from a 22,000-sq.-ft. facility in downtown Toronto and will soon relocate to a new 36,000-sq.-ft. facility.
