The ARA of New York is now hosting meetings around the state to give more members an opportunity to attend. This summer’s social events followed the same pattern, with a day at the races at Saratoga in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, Aug. 15, followed by a game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
ARA of New York members who participated in the Saratoga event enjoyed the races and gourmet buffet in the brand new air conditioned Paddock Tent, which is located behind the Clubhouse near the saddling area. Those who attended the Yankee game were treated to a pre-game party on the outdoor terrace of the MasterCard Batter’s Eye Café. The Yankees did their part to make the event a success, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2. Some members made the effort to attend both events, not allowing geography to limit their fun and opportunity to spend time with others in the equipment rental industry.
“We’ve found that hosting meetings in various regions around the state makes them more accessible to members and encourages participation,” says Darren Morizet, owner of PartyTime Rentals in Wappinger Falls, N.Y., and president of the ARA of New York. “Having our summer social events in these prime locations motivates people to travel a little further than they otherwise might, which allows for some really great conversation and networking.”
