John Kennedy

John Kennedy, 69, of Hampton, N.J., died Dec. 28, 2012. Kennedy worked for Ingersoll-Rand as a district manager in upstate New York and in 1981 relocated to New Jersey where he held the position of product manager in Ingersoll-Rand’s Professional Tools Marketing Department. He started Sales to Industry, a manufacturer’s sales representative organization, in 1988. Sales to Industry specializes in the direct sales of aerial lift solutions and construction equipment to the commercial rental market. Kennedy became a well-known and respected member of the American Rental Association (ARA). He is survived by his wife Sandra, his mother-in-law, Susanne Zwerling, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debi and Ron Webb, and his cousin Audrey Kent and her husband Larn. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Dr, Flemington, NJ 08822.

John Lane

John Lane, 57, of North Royalton, Ohio, died Jan. 8, 2013. Lane was a manufacturers representative with M.J. Miller Combined Cos. for many years. His territory covered Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Prior to joining M.J. Miller, he was the national sales manager for Terramite Corp. for 10 years. He is survived by his parents; Anne, his wife of nearly 25 years; three sons and three grandchildren. Charles “Arthur” Shields

Charles “Arthur” Shields, 86, of Marion, Ind., died Jan. 2, 2013. Shields was the longtime owner and operator of AA Rents of Marion, Ind. He and his wife worked to organize the Hoosier Tool Rental Association. He was a graduate of Fairmount High School and served in the Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Joan “June” Yale, whom he married in 1948.

Karen Webster

Karen Webster, 70, of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, died Jan. 3, 2013. Webster’s husband, Jack, purchased McLean Rental in 1979, which currently operates as McLean Sherwood Event Rental. Karen worked as a bookkeeper in the business until her retirement in 2009. Jack has served as Ontario CRA president, national CRA president and Region 10 director for the American Rental Association. Webster is survived by her husband, two sons, a daughter and seven grandchildren. Donations can be made to the ALS Society (Ontario).
