Badger Equipment Co. CD4415 launch event, Winona, Minn., Oct. 8-9-10, 2012

Editor’s note: Badger Equipment Co. recently invited customers and members of the press to its headquarters in picturesque Winona, Minn., for its CD4415 rough-terrain crane launch event that included a factory tour, mini trade show featuring local vendors and a media session for representatives of publications such as Rental Management. Attendees also were able to virtually pilot their own plane in a full-motion Redbird FMX flight simulator, play golf at Cedar Valley Golf Course or shoot skeet at the Winona Gun Club as part of the company-sponsored activities.

 Maneuvering 15 tons

Badger Equipment Co. joined the American Rental Association (ARA) in July and will be a first-time exhibitor at The Rental Show 2013 in Las Vegas, Feb. 10-13. The company manufactures specialized rough-terrain cranes and material-handling products. Badger primarily serves the needs of government, railroad, construction, oil and gas, mining, utility, manufacturing and rental industries with the brand names Badger, Little Giant and CF Lifters.

The company’s launch event was specifically designed to introduce the CD4415 rough-terrain crane addition to Badger’s line of specialized earthmoving, railroad and material-handling equipment. The 15-ton crane has four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, designed for easier maneuverability, even in very tight spots, the company says. It has multiple boom configurations and a highly visible, ergonomically engineered two-door cab with joystick controls. It also has integrated safety features such as steps and handrails. The cab-down CD4415 is just over 11 ft. tall. Its front-mounted steps and cab-mounted handrails were specifically designed to make getting in and out of the CD4415 safer and easier, the company says.

“We’ve built the CD4415 with user safety and performance in mind,” says Ed Samera, Badger’s general manager. “It features a sliding glass door and expansive use of glass for continuous views of a load. Safety steps eliminate the need for stepping over tires.”

The CD4415 also meets the latest tiered engine requirements by using Cummins® or Cat® diesel engines that comply with newly established U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) air emission standards.
