Keynote includes Hall of Fame induction and more

The keynote session will take place Monday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at The Rental Show 2013 in Las Vegas.

Capt. Mark Kelly, commander of the space shuttle Endeavour’s final mission, and husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords, will share his experience in the keynote address, including the importance of leadership, teamwork and courage under pressure.

Two long-time rental industry leaders will be inducted into the Rental Hall of Fame: Robert C. Elmen, owner of Elmen Enterprises, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Paul M. Coogan, past president and CEO of Aggregate Equipment and Supply, of Peoria, Ill. ARA created the Rental Hall of Fame in 2000 and each year, nominations are accepted to recognize individuals who have made a substantial impact on the industry at the national or international level.

ARA also will recognize the passing of the gavel from Mike Flesher, ARA’s 50th president and owner of Taylor Rental Center with locations in Vestal and Ithaca, N.Y., to Mike Blaisdell, incoming ARA president and vice president of Bunce Rental in Tacoma, Wash. In addition, Blaisdell and Flesher will present the association’s outlook for the industry this year.

The trade show floor will open immediately following the keynote session. For more information about The Rental Show events, go to
