Nearly 50 ARA of Louisiana members met in Lafayette to participate in a day of golf, networking and socializing at the group’s April 26 meeting. The day started at 9:30 a.m. with 13 members at The Wetlands Golf Course. The Walk and Talk portion of the afternoon at Oge’s Rent-All Center seemed to be the biggest draw.
“I think this is a large part of what makes our meetings successful,” says Byron Alleman, owner of Lafayette Rental Service in Lafayette. “When rental people and vendors get together surrounded by a working rental yard, it just seems to spur good business discussions.”
The boiled crawfish dinner, catered by Dwight Breaux from Dwight’s Restaurant, provided another opportunity for attendees to socialize while enjoying the traditional Cajun fare served outside under a tent. Following dinner, the ARA of Louisiana meeting covered a wide range of topics, including sales tax issues, customer training, ARA’s National Legislative Caucus, The Rental Show and Leadership Conference.
“In addition to the Walk and Talk, I love the brief quick topic after topic discussions we have at our meetings. It makes for informal information sharing and many of these quick discussions lead to one-on-one follow-up conversations after the meeting is over,” Alleman says.
