Products: Job-site Equipment

On the job site

This month, Rental Management looks at job-site equipment including power generation and air compressors as well as job-site cleanup, portable storage and safety equipment.

Jenny Products compressor

The J11HGA-30P wheeled portable air compressor from Jenny Products, Somerset, Pa., has a 30-gal. air tank and a belt-driven “J” pump, which is a single-stage, four-cylinder pump with a high compression ratio for producing 21.3 cfm at 100 psi or 20.0 cfm at 125 psi. It is powered by an 11-hp Honda GX gasoline engine.

Fogco Systems dust suppressor

The Spraystream SS20-SS trailer-mounted dust suppression unit from Fogco Systems, Chandler, Ariz., is designed to provide a column of air that exits the high-velocity fan and can travel more than 150 ft. A dense spray of atomized water is introduced into the air column to provide dust suppression. The SS20-SS has a generator, water tank and variable frequency drive pump for up to 9 hours of autonomous operation.

General Pipe Cleaners connectors

The ClogChopper™ multi-function cutting connectors from General Pipe Cleaners, a Div. of General Wire Spring Co., McKees Rocks, Pa., attach to drain cleaning
machines and are designed to maneuver around tight ends and traps to clean metal, plastic and clay pipes. ClogChoppers come in 2-in., 3-in. and 4-in. sizes and have six self-sharpening blades designed to grind up stoppages without risking pipe damage, the company says.

  Subaru generators

The new invertor generators from Subaru, Lake Zurich, Ill., include the R1700i at 1,650W, the RG3200iS at 3,200W and the RG4300iS at 4,300W. The company says the advanced inverter technology significantly reduces running sound. Subaru inverter generators run the engine at a slower speed for low power use and automatically increase speed as more electrical power is required. Further sound reduction is achieved through a reverse cooling design that the company says allows
the generators to be fully enclosed in a sound-absorbing poly-resin enclosure for near silent operation.

Big Ass Fans misting fan

The Yellow Jacket Fan from Big Ass Fans, Lexington, Ky., is now available with a high-pressure misting system
and an oscillator as well. In any version or approved mount, the company says the Yellow Jacket retains its quiet operation with
11 adjustable speeds and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Transcube fuel storage tank

The TCL50 transportable fuel tank line from Transcube, Milford, Conn., has
a double-walled tank with 110-percent secondary containment of the inner
container’s total capacity, thus eliminating the risk of spills and ground contamination, the company says. It has a 1,240-gal. capacity and UL 142 certification for safe diesel fuel storage. The tanks are capable of feeding three generators while simultaneously fueling equipment with a separate nozzle. To prevent theft or tampering, access to fuel and pumping equipment can be secured within the tank’s lockable cabinet.

Clemco Industries Corp. CO monitor

The CMS-3 helmet-mounted carbon monoxide monitor from Clemco Industries Corp., Washington, Mo., is approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for use in Clemco Apollo abrasive blasting respirators. The single-gas monitor is microprocessor-controlled, weighs 1.6 oz. and mounts inside the blast respirator. The company says the operator can immediately see and hear when the monitor alarms in the event of a dangerous gas condition or malfunction and that the unit is easily calibrated and installed. The sensors and battery also are field replaceable.

TrynEx International broom attachment

The SweepEx Mega Series broom attachment from TrynEx International, Madison Heights, Mich., has 11 brush rows on a 60-in. long mainframe for cleaning up job-site dirt, leaves, snow, material spills, standing water, steel shavings and gravel. The SweepEx is adaptable for most vehicles and mounting kits are available for forklifts, bucket lips, class 1 and 2 three-point hitches, and skid-steer pivots.

   Baldor Electric Co. generator

The TG10 towable generator from Baldor Electric Co., is a single-phase unit, rated at 10 kVA. The TG10 meets current emission requirements with a Kubota engine. It has a powder-coated steel enclosure, 50-gal. fuel tank and is available with an optional light tower kit.
It has a recessed receptacle panel for extra protection against weather and a standard digital controller
to manage the generator.

HeistProof keyless security system

The Keyless Information Security System (KISS) security system from HeistProof, Bradenton, Fla., uses individually coded radio frequency identification (RFID) cards the same size as a credit card to allow authorized operators access to start specific motor vehicles and equipment. The cards act as an electronic key pass authorizing the vehicle to start after qualifying the operator’s identity.

Doosan Portable Power air compressor

The P125WJDU utility mount air compressor from Doosan Portable Power, Statesville, N.C., has an auxiliary drive option and offers free-air delivery of 125 cfm and rated operating pressure of 100 psig. The P125WJDU is powered by a Tier 4i compliant John Deere 49-hp diesel engine.
