Editor's Note: The A.R.A. Membership Services Department has supplied this information to help members understand more about the Rental Equipment Industry Foundation.

We've all heard many times how it's better to give than to receive. Did you know that giving only $25 will ultimately benefit you and give you something in return? That's exactly what happens when you donate to R.E.I.F., the Rental Equipment Industry Foundation. It's the sole support of the educational investment for the rental industry. Right now, your help is needed!

What will your R.E.I.F. dollars do?

• Help send a student through college with its scholarship program. Scholarship recipients must be studying an area applicable to the rental industry.
• Support the lending library in purchasing new videotapes on current educational topics used to train your employees.
• Help develop certification programs for the rental industry. Certification is one of the highest priorities that came out of the 1998 committee and special interest group meetings.

R.E.I.F. is the vehicle for getting certification programs in party/ events, general tool and construction to the industry.

Here's where you come in. If each member of A.R.A. would donate only $25, that would meet the 1999 goal of:

• $10,000 for the scholarship program ($1,000 per each region);
• $40,000 to purchase new videotapes for the lending library; and
• $20,000 for research and development in certification for the industry.
