Wave of the Future

 October, 2000

Size up your worth in Charleston, S.C.

Size up your worth at the Next Generation Fall Conference Nov. 3-5 in Charleston, S.C.

Saturday morning’s seminar focuses on determining a rental business worth. Participants then can choose between two seminars being offered in the afternoon — Evaluating Rental Business Relationships or Gifting, Stock Options or Financing, which is right for you? Saturday’s lunch also will be an educational experience as participants learn the dos and don’ts of hosting a client dinner.

Chuck Greenidge, president of Greenidge & Associates, Evergreen, Colo., will present two Saturday seminars: Determining a Rental Business Worth and Evaluating Rental Business Relationships. (

Greenidge has been involved in the rental industry for many years. He has consulted many rental store owners through the process of buying, selling or refinancing a business. He has spoken at A.R.A.’s annual conventions and is the author of GMROI: How to Analyze and Improve the Profitability in Your Rental Business. GMROI was written in 1986 as a project of the Rental Equipment Industry Foundation.

Clarence Asbury, CPA, CVA and managing partner of McKonly & Asbury, Camp Hill, Pa., will present the Gifting, Stock Options or Financing, which is right for you? seminar. Asbury is a certified valuation analyst as well as the former owner of A-1 Lincoln Rental in Harrisburg, Pa.

A Sunday breakfast forum will cap off the weekend conference. Attendees also can join in the optional events being planned for Friday — a golf outing and plantation tour. The conference begins with a welcoming reception and rental store tour at Hughes Equipment and Party Rental, Mount Pleasant, S.C.

The conference will be held at the Hampton Inn & Suites-West Ashley. The rate is $79 plus tax for single or double occupancy.

A conference brochure is available online at http://www.ararental.org  through A.R.A.’s fax-on-demand system at (877) 384-7368, or by calling (800) 334-2177, ext. 244.
