Terex Corp. to purchase Fermec holdings from CNH

The European Commission has approved Terex Corp.’s purchase of Fermec holdings from CNH Global. The sale of Fermec was among the conditions under which the European Commission approved the merger of Case Corp. and New Holland.

Terex will acquire Fermec’s Manchester, England, plant and its backhoe loader and industrial product lines. Fermec products will continue to be marketed through existing Fermec dealer and distributor outlets in Europe, North America, Latin America and Australia. In addition, Terex will supply CNH with four-wheel-steer backhoe loaders that will be sold as part of the Case line of construction equipment.

Westport, Conn.-based Terex owns 37 manufacturing operations in the United States and Europe. Its products are marketed in more than 60 countries.

American Pneumatic Tools (APT), Gardena, Calif., has acquired Delsteel, Wilmington, Del. Delsteel’s product line will continue to be produced in Wilmington. APT’s manufacturing plant in Gardena will serve as Delsteel’s West Coast warehouse; the Wilmington plant will serve as APT’s East Coast warehouse.

DeWalt Industrial Tools and Accessories, Baltimore, has purchased Emglo Air Compressors from Stonewood Capital Management, Pittsburgh, a private venture capital and management buyout firm. Emglo is based in Johnstown, Pa.

Allmand Bros., Holdrege, Neb., has appointed Frank “Buck” Vivian as product specialist for the EZ Breaker line. Before 
joining Allmand, he served as a regional sales manager for Terex Light Construction.

American Equipment Leasing (AEL), Reading, Pa., has promoted Harry Schneider to senior vice president – marketing and sales. Schneider has been with AEL since 1980. He previously headed the company’s Kentucky branch office.

Erik Olsson has been named business area controller of the Rental Service Business Area (RSBA) for Atlas Copco, the parent company of Rental Service Corp., Scottsdale, Ariz. Olsson was previously CFO for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., Brookfield, Wis., a company within the Atlas Copco Group.

Rex Perisho is the new vice president and general manager of Bomag Light Equipment Division, Conklin, N.Y. Perisho most recently held the position of president of Ameriquip.

Mike Smollock is the new vice president – sales and marketing for MacKissic, Parker Ford, Pa. Smollock originally joined MacKissic in 1998 as rental division manager to develop a new rental division.

Rosco Manufacturing Co., Madison, S.D., has named Bryce Davis to national sales manager, Carl Blomberg to regional sales manager serving the western states and Derek Williams to sales and support manager. 

Dave Stevenson has been named general manager of Terex Aerials’ Waverly, Iowa, operations. He assumes the duties of Bob Potter, who is on special assignment with Terex America in Wilmington, N.C.
